Shared prong
In a shared prong setting, each stone shares one set of prongs with the stone next to it. With less visible metal, more light can pass through each diamond, which leads to added sparkle.
Surface prong
In this setting style, small shared prongs are raised slightly above the surface of the metal and tiny cuts are made for the melee culets.
Channel
A channel setting is a type of mounting in which gemstones are set into a channel made from two metal strips. The stones set in such a way form a row and can run along with the entire band of the ring.
Bezel
In this type of setting, the jewellery metal runs along the entire edge of the gemstone to hold it in place.
Flush
A flush setting, also known as a gypsy setting, sets the diamond into a drilled hole in the band of the ring so that the ring sits “flush” with the band of the ring.
Pavé
This setting is created by closely setting small diamonds together with minimal visibility of the tiny metal beads or prongs holding the stones in place, the effect is one of continuous sparkle.

I attempted to correct the definition of a radio station call sign which was incorrectly defined in this website. It was the definition of KELG. I know the history of KELG because I was the President and founder of the company that applied for the license of KELG and put the station on the air. When I attempted to enter the correct information, my entry was flagged by Facebook, although I had not knowingly posted it on Facebook.
For the record, this was my post that was found to violate Facebook standards, and again, to be clear, I never posted it on Fascebook, yet I was told by Facebook that it violated community standrards...
The FCC Call Sign KELG was originated by Fred Lundgren when he founded a company named Bastrop County Communications in 1976 and applied for the original license of the Elgin, Texas radio station. The license was granted in 1979. The station operated with a four tower parallelogram on 1440 AM with a directional array designed to put a city grade signal over Austin, Texas. Therefore, KELG stands for K-Elgin and is not related to the non-description in definitions.net.more »
STANDS4 It was impossible for me to navigate. Here is the true definition of KELG if you want to correct your siute.

So far, I have encountered an interesting array of words and facts about how the language has changed which is interesting to see how youths are re-writing our words and definitions to, I believe, make it easier to understand and quicker to get their points across.more »
okay so I got. Transpire.... Words of the day, but I thought it meant something else so you really do learn something new everyday if you try to, besides it's good for the brain! Thank you very much
Fun Fact! On your page that describes the 'Definitions API' and how to get it, the word 'definitions' is spelled DEFNITIONS. (somebody at STANDS4 needs a 'whupping' with a wet noodle!) tsk tsk tsk......
I appreciate the word of the day and definition. It helps to keep my brain active. Pain consumes most of my brain thought, so the errors of the day and definition, and your interesting facts look this site are something I really look forward to. Thank you so much!more »
